Wainuiomata Pioneer Church Preservation Society Inc.

Welcome.
The objective of our Society is the preservation, maintenenace and encouragement of the use of the Coast Road Church and its Graveyard. The land on which the Church was built was gifted to the Methodist Church around 1860 by Richard Prouse.
The actual building was built we think in 1863 making it one hundred and forty seven years old  - in 2010.
Until recently, the Methodist Church have been the guardians of the Church and graveyard.

On May the 1st this year, the Wainuiomata Pioneer Church Preservation Society Inc. took over the role of guardians and are now looking forward to inviting those with an interest or connection with the families buried in the graveyard, to become members. For a list of the family names buried here click here.

The Society has two key objectives at present:
1. To establish itself as a worthy charity
2. To commence restoration of the building and surrounding property.
